Meet our tour guide and enjoy a safe journey from Cairo Airport to your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The transfer will take approximately 1 hour. Transfers are available year-round, 24 hours a day. (Please send us your flight details.) Upon arrival at your hotel, meet your guide, who will give you a brief overview of your Egypt tour with all the necessary tips and recommendations. Overnight in a Giza hotel (private room with breakfast), possibly with a pyramid view if available.
After breakfast, start your day with your friendly guide at the Giza Plateau. Upon arrival, your Egyptology guide will introduce you to the famous Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. Marvel at the statue of the Great Sphinx and visit the Valley Temple, which is part of the same ancient complex. Learn about the funerary rituals of the pharaohs. The next stop is the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at the fascinating Saqqara archaeological site. Built around 2630 BC, this special pyramid is the oldest stone structure in the world. You will continue to Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt. Having reigned as a cultural center for more than 3,000 years, Memphis boasts impressive ancient sites.
Full-Day Guided Tour of Alexandria (Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, Citadel of Qaitbay, and the Alexandria Library). After breakfast, our friendly guide will accompany you to visit the city of Alexandria, located on the Mediterranean Sea, 220 km west of Cairo. Upon arrival, you will start by visiting the Catacombs to see all the Greco-Roman tombs underground. Continue your tour to see Pompey's Pillar and the Roman temple with the Sphinx and Roman cisterns. Proceed to visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, which is located on the Mediterranean Sea and offers a great view. You will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional lunch and taste Alexandrian cuisine. Continue your tour by visiting the Alexandria Library, which houses thousands of manuscripts. Then, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel by your friendly guide to enjoy a spiritual day. First, visit the Citadel of Saladin, where the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali is located, as well as the Al Gowhara Palace, built by the Mamluks and Ottomans. Continue to Old Cairo, where you will discover the Roman fortress, the Hanging Church, also called Al Mo'allaka Church, and the Church of St. Sergius, which housed the Holy Family. End your tour by visiting the famous Ben Ezra Jewish Synagogue. Continue your full-day tour through downtown Cairo to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, which displays artifacts from the Pharaonic and Roman periods. The museum showcases a rare collection of 5,000 years of Egyptian art, considered the largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art in the world. You will have the opportunity to visit the tombs of Tutankhamun as well. Then, you will be taken to Cairo Airport for your departure flight.
