In the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel, airport, or train station in Aswan, and we will head to the Nile Cruise. After check-in and refreshing, we will begin our tour in Aswan by visiting the High Dam, a massive structure that has been operational since 1970. Here, you will learn how it was built to regulate water flow and control flooding of the powerful Nile River. We will then visit the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest in the world, and explore the Aswan quarries, which supplied stone for the construction of ancient Egyptian temples and monuments. Next, we will take a motorboat ride to the Philae Temple, passing through the Nile’s cataracts (rapids). The temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, is one of Egypt’s most beautiful sites. After the tour, we will return to the cruise for the night.
The cruise will set sail from Aswan toward Kom Ombo, where we will visit the Temple of Sobek, the crocodile-headed god. This temple is unique, featuring two entrances and numerous inscriptions depicting scenes of ancient Egyptian history and religion. We will then return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Edfu Temple, spending another night on the Nile.
In the morning, we will visit the Temple of Edfu, the largest and best-preserved temple in Egypt, dedicated to Horus, one of the most revered gods in Egyptian history. Upon arrival in Luxor, we will tour the East Bank, starting with the renowned Karnak Temple, which was built over centuries by multiple pharaohs. We will then visit the Luxor Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt. After the tour, we will return to the cruise for dinner and an overnight stay on the Nile.
In the morning, we will explore the Valley of the Kings, where 66 royal tombs have been discovered. We will then visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the only temple built for a queen, carved entirely into the mountainside. We will conclude the tour at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues honoring Pharaoh Amenhotep III. After the tour, we will transfer you to the airport, train station, or your hotel in Luxor.
